Construction
Materials, Why we use itt and what you feel
Paulownia core (Spain)
At 115mm, weight management is critical. Paulownia’s strength-to-weight keeps the Symbiotic 115 manageable on short climbs.
Floaty and light underfoot in deep snow. A wide ski that does not feel heavy.
Strandwoven bamboo sidewalls
Torsional contribution at 115mm. Essential for edge hold when a wide ski is manoeuvred in tight terrain.
The ski does what you ask, even in trees and tight spaces.
Flax / carbon (Bcomp)
Tuned for float and manoeuvrability rather than high-speed stability.
Smooth and responsive. A ski that invites exploration.
Cork tip & tail
Vibration management on the widest platform in the Symbiotic line. Works with the turned-up tail.
Clean in the varied snow types you find in trees and off-piste.
Stainless steel guards
Full delamination prevention.
Built to last seasons of this kind of use.
Wood veneer
Real hardwood, unique grain.
Stands out in any resort setting.
Entropy Bioresin Throughout the full build.
Care
Start with the topsheet, since it’s real wood and, like any wood, it’s alive — it takes on and gives off moisture depending on where it’s kept, so avoid leaving the skis somewhere damp, against a radiator, or baking in a hot car. Give the topsheet an occasional coat of our wax too; it feeds the wood and protects the finish, much the same as oiling a wooden worktop or treating a good pair of leather boots, and it’s a couple of minutes well spent.
The base is where regular maintenance pays off . Wax it often — it’s quick, it keeps the ski running smoothly across the snow. Keep the edges deburred so they don’t catch, but there’s no need to sand or grind every time you tune; that just removes more of the base than necessary and shortens its working life.
Once a season, or after base repair, take the skis to a shop with a diamond stone for a proper restructure. It’s not just cosmetic — the structure cut into the ptex helps break the surface tension of the water layer that forms under a moving ski, which is what actually lets it glide rather than stick, particularly in the wetter snow you’ll find on resort-access powder days as temperatures rise. Look after it this way and the 115 will keep performing, lap after lap, for years.
